Security X-ray machines are essential inspection devices in public places. They are commonly seen in airports, subway stations, train stations, and other high-security areas. How to Start a Security X-Ray Machine

  1. Connect the main power cable to a 220VAC±10 power supply.

  2. Insert the key into the control switch and rotate it 90 degrees to link the detector with the main control system.

  3. Press the “Main Power” button. The power indicator on the console will light up, signaling that the device is starting.

  4. The system will run an initialization program, displaying the startup interface.

  5. Once initialization is complete, the system will show a “Initialization Successful” message.

  6. The machine then enters the normal inspection mode, ready for use.

This process ensures the X-ray scanner is properly powered and calibrated before operation.

Working Principle of Security X-Ray Machines

The core working principle of an X-ray scanner is based on the generation and detection of X-rays:

  • The master controller sends pulse signals that power the X-ray tube’s anode and filament.

  • When the filament is heated, it releases free electrons, which are accelerated by high voltage toward the tungsten target at the anode.

  • When electrons strike the target, about 1% of the energy is converted into X-rays, while the remaining 99% is released as heat.

  • The X-rays pass through the scanned object, and the resulting image is displayed on the screen via an image intensifier, showing clear outlines of concealed items.

How X-Rays Are Produced

X-rays can be generated through three mechanisms: Bremsstrahlung (braking radiation), electron capture, and internal conversion. In X-ray security machines, the radiation mechanism is primarily Bremsstrahlung.

The system operates with pulse-width modulation technology at around 30kHz, with closed-loop control to adjust voltage and current. Built-in over-voltage and over-current protection ensures safe and stable operation.

Safety Precautions When Using Security X-Ray Machines

  1. Ensure all machine covers are securely closed and the power supply socket is properly grounded before use.

  2. Remember that X-ray radiation is harmful. When the X-ray indicator light is on, no part of the body should enter the scanning tunnel.

  3. All maintenance, calibration, or adjustments must be performed only by trained technicians.
